Modern Compliance, Modern Input: Greenboard's Customer Advisory Board

Please share on

Greenboard was built on a foundational premise—compliance should be a growth enabler, not a bottleneck. Delivering on that premise demands more than regulatory expertise and sound engineering. It takes access to the practitioners who operate compliance programs every day and whose judgment reflects conditions not fully observable from the outside.

Since Greenboard’s earliest days, chief compliance officers, consultants, and executives across more than 600 firms have shaped how our platform works. Now, we’re formalizing that relationship with our inaugural Customer Advisory Board.

Greenboard’s Customer Advisory Board brings together 12 compliance, risk, and governance leaders from registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, and consulting firms. The board will meet with our product and leadership teams to advise on platform direction, give input on product priorities, and assess where market needs are moving next.

Why This Matters Now

The compliance function has changed over the last 10 years. What was once a largely reactive, checklist-driven discipline now sits at the center of how firms manage risk, establish trust, and pursue growth. Compliance leaders are responsible not only for meeting regulatory obligations, but for shaping how their organizations operate responsibly at scale.

Technology has driven that shift in both directions. It has expanded what compliance teams can supervise and how quickly they can act, and has introduced new categories of risk, from regulatory ambiguity around emerging tools to reduced transparency in increasingly automated workflows. Compliance teams are absorbing both effects simultaneously, and in real time.

Building and evolving a platform designed for that environment requires close partnership with the people living it every day. The distinctions that determine whether a product performs well in practice are operational and specific—how a marketing review is actually sequenced across reviewers, where a preclearance workflow introduces friction for an adviser, what a mock examination surfaces that a dashboard does not. These distinctions are best identified by the people managing them.

The Mandate of the Board

Greenboard’s Customer Advisory Board will meet quarterly with our product and leadership teams. These sessions are working discussions rather than briefings, where members can review the direction of the platform, evaluate proposed priorities, identify needs the product does not yet address, and test our assumptions against their own operating experience.

Greenboard will bring roadmap decisions to the board while there is still opportunity for revision, and report the impact of member input back to the board. This advisory board is not merely a formality; we intend to close the loop on feedback and impact.

Participation is uncompensated, and membership on the board does not constitute an endorsement of Greenboard or its products. Members have joined to improve the tools available to compliance professionals, including themselves.

“The leaders joining this board bring a depth of operating experience that we could not replicate internally, and their willingness to engage candidly is what makes the exercise valuable. Our obligation is to listen carefully, act on what we hear, and be transparent. I want to personally thank all involved for their time and feedback.”
