Announcing the first AI harness for securities compliance

GreenboardGo 2.0

The first AI harness built for SEC and FINRA compliance

GreenboardGo 2.0 runs across the whole Greenboard platform, so compliance teams can ask, configure and automate any part of their program from one place, with every step written to a WORM-based, 17a-4 compliant record. It also works where teams do: in Slack, Teams, Claude and ChatGPT.

Advicers Founder Feature #1: Can AI run your compliance? Dave Feldman, Co-founder and CEO, Greenboard

I joined Joe Moss for the first Founder Feature from Advicers to talk about how Greenboard got started and to demo GreenboardGo2.0 live, the same week we launched it. Here are the highlights.

What an AI harness is

A language model like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini is the raw computing resource. The harness is what you actually work in: Claude Code is a harness for software engineers, and Harvey and Legora are harnesses for lawyers. Until now, no one had built one for securities compliance. GreenboardGo2.0 puts hundreds of tools across the Greenboard platform behind one conversation, in Greenboard or over MCP, Slack and Teams, and compliance always approves what becomes part of the record.

The live demo

On the advisor side, I asked GreenboardGo to help me send Joe a gift. It pulled the details from the web, checked them against the firm's gifts policy and drafted the pre-clearance for me. When I said a client wanted to message me on Telegram, it told me that channel wasn't approved and who to talk to first. The firm's policy wins, even when the AI could do more.

On the compliance side, I uploaded a sample SEC exam request list. GreenboardGo planned the work, drafted each item from the firm's books and records, flagged what needed a person's input and, about 15 minutes later, produced a package you can review and revise by chatting with it. You'd never tell an examiner that AI runs your compliance program. It does the gathering so people can do the judging.

What it means for compliance jobs

Joe asked the question a lot of people are thinking: if AI does two weeks of exam prep in 15 minutes, what happens to the person who used to do it? Chasing documents, reconciling data from fragmented systems and building the exam file by hand isn't what makes compliance people great. Our hope is that tools like this give that time back for the work that matters: understanding the business, the real risks, and helping people follow the intent of the rules. We partner with compliance consultants, we don't recommend replacing your compliance team with software, and with this launch we published our fiduciary commitment.

Integrations and what's next

Greenboard connects to more than 180 custodians, including through Schwab Advisor Center and Fidelity's Integration Exchange, along with e-comms channels down to iMessage, personal brokerage accounts and, now, an MCP server for everything else. Next up: GreenboardGo handling more of what people ask it to do, and fuller automation of FINRA registration filings like U4s and U5s.

We closed on getting started with AI. My advice: start with a real problem and be curious. Ask a chat tool the question you'd otherwise type into a search bar, then ask it to remind you, organize your list or draft the next step. Most people are surprised by how much they can do within a few tries.
